I really, really hope you're right with this one. I have hated Marty for...well...forever. Probably comes from my being a Broncos fan and every team he's coached has been a real pain in the Bronco's a**.

Marty has a history of losing these big games. However, he's turned over all the playmaking responsibility to his defensive and offensive coordinators and Chargers surge since then shows the decision is working. Also, no QB has played better in the fourth quarter than Rivers.

Well, we both got our wish. I truly believe Marty has coached his last game in San Diego.

This isn't twenty-twenty hindsight - when Marty threw the challenge flag on the late fumble, I knew he'd regret losing the timeout.

There was NO WAY the officials were going to overturn the fumble call. I could see it was a clear fumble when the play occured, in full speed. I'd be shocked if his coaches upstairs watched the replay and told Marty to challenge. Sure, it was a big turnover - but had they kept the timeout, they could have run one more play with 8 seconds to go, to put the ball closer for Kaeding.

In a close game, you ALWAYS keep one timeout in your pocket.

Once again, Marty loses in the post-season.

For the 2nd straight year, the teams with the first-round bye go 2-2 in the divisional round. I don't think it mattered much to the Chargers, but the Ravens were FLAT on Saturday.
