I just watched the replay of the last minute of the game....when Rivers completed his final pass down inside the NE 40, they had 17 seconds left. Obviously, if Marty still had one timeout, they could have run at least one more play, to get closer for Keading.
Had they kept TWO timeouts, the long delay between the first and second completion wouldn't have happened.
Here's a thought....had Bill Cowher not blown his timeouts at the end of the Falcon game, all the way back in week 7, the Steeler season might have gone very differently, and they 'might' have made the playoffs. I realize that being an armchair coach is the easiest thing in the world, but I'm just amazed how many times this comes back to haunt coaches and their teams.
