not free but both these are easy to work with

QuickFRX2PDF at http://reportlistener.com/files ; it's cheap and operates as a listener without requiring a PDF printer be installed. I have had a few problems with reports that contain lots of boxes and photos. Comes with a royalty free licence.

or

www.pdffactory.com renders beautifully, is pretty cheap, has a simple registry based API and the trial version has a fairly unobtrusive footer.
