So do we. Food is normally 6%, but some luxary food - like lobster - is 21%

[ and I know something, not all, about vat law. For some things I can give you the belgian article #, paragraph, section, etc ]

>we haev a whole list of VAT laws like that, most of which people have no idea exist. my favourite is in the case of scones, if there are 13 or more raisins in one then it is a luxury good so VAT is at 21%, if less than 13 then there is no VAT as it is deemed a necessity.

>>>Another stupid Norwegian regulation is that the VAT percentage for some products depends on where and how they are sold. For instance if I buy a pizza at a restaurant, and eat it there, I have to pay 25% VAT. But if I take the pizza out of the restaurant and eat it in a park, in my car or at home, I only pay 13% VAT. I think the book which summarizes when each VAT percentage applies, is almost as thick as the bible. :-)

>>It's the same over here - VAT law is similar in the European countries
>>
>>VAT law makes a distinction between goods and services

>>- Get a pizza = a good .....lookup in table... food .. 6%
>>- Eat a pizza in a restaurant = a service... lookup in table.... service = 21%
