I don't remember any of the "gurus" saying not to use the RI features. They have always worked well for me. Some have said that it should be replaced with a data driven system (and I agree) and there was even one developed, but I never felt that it was really battle hardened, so I didn't want to use my apps as the guinea pig (do they use that saying in Croatia? <g>). One thing that some "gurus" said was don't use a grid for data entry. I've always felt that was horrible advice and really unnecessarily hamstrings VFP apps and makes them look archaic. I have always used the grid for data entry and have found it to work great. So, no, the "gurus" are not gods and sometimes they are wrong, but when it comes to indexes I see no reason to not use them. There is no downside, but there is a great upside.

>Ok. I think I know enough about indexes. Infact, for building my apps. I am using Codemine frameework. Bad net is not "crown" reason for not using indexes. I was just asking myself from time to time if it is possible to build app without any index !. Characterics of this app, as mentioned, give me a chance to try. For the end, you mentioned referential (RI) integrity. I rember I have read in the past few articles in which experinced authors "denny" use of RI in the same way as Tore use of Insert before ....
