I can just picture the sea hitting the marina breakwater here, during windy weather, or blow holes in Cornwall's craggy coast. Composition-wise though it's "swell" (geddit?). However, I wouldn't have included the horizon and the rest of the ocean - it detracts from the focus of attention - just fill the view with the subject - everyone "knows" there's an horizon out there and doesn't need to be shown it. Of course, it's different when photographing a sunset!


Ok. Good stuff. That's what I'm looking for. I'll look at the horizon issue.
As per waves, that's about it. We don't get any, ever, because of the Bahamas blocking the ocean swells.
