That was easy to figure out and our highways cleaned up quite quickly. I believe it's similar with the environment, but we haven't got a nice simple way to get that across to people.
That leads to a funny story here in the U.S. Back in the 1970s there was a famous commercial where a man who looked to be a Native American (Indian for the non-politically correct) was beside a highway when someone passing by in a car threw out some litter. In the scene, a tear drop is falling down his face.
It turned out that the actor who played the part was actually Italian.
