As for (not) releasing the DS, I've seen that in VFP8, but don't remember what were the settings. I know some settings were quite extraordinary, so I thought it was something there that caused it. A lot of cursors created during the life of form would remain open, the datasession would stay dangling in the SET window, and I'm still not sure what was causing that.

Nowadays it's a problem that the SET window (aka Data Session window) doesn't refresh until you try to browse any alias, I wish they didn't fix it from 8, which worked :).
