This is a complicated issue. Just take a look at those corporate accounts that we used to have here. For most of them, they are in US. And, for most of them, they are tax exempt. So, the first reaction is "We are in US, you are not suppose to charge us tax". So, I explain to them. Then, "Well, IAC, we are tax exempt so you can bill us without the tax", because they are a government institution, the US Marines, a church organization, etc. Well, we cannot honor that certificate because we are in Canada. So, in their case, for most of them, they are not allowed to purchase a good if a tax is applicable, because they work without a tax policy. So, we lost most of them.
It is also about the perception. I would not purchase a software from the Internet from a US based company if there is a tax. This is extremely insulting and this is how our members perceive it.
