>>>Now can you do something about Jim Carey?

>>Yes, I can. I refuse to watch his facial contortions. I don't watch anything he is involved in and never will. He is Mr UnFunny to me. I think Steven Wright is the funniest guy around, but he isn't on tv much anymore. I just look at the general population for laughs these days, and I'm usually grinning!

>My attitude toward Jim Carrey was the same for quite a while, and to an extent it still is. I will make one exception: "The Truman Show". He played it straight and was just fine IMO. I have a feeling a lot of movie fans missed an excellent movie simply because he was the star.
Agreed, the Trueman Show was good. There was another film where he was a mild-mannered CHP, or something like it, put upon by everyone (didn't he have some black kids as his family or something>). I was pleasantly surprised that he could play such a role. Then something happened to his character that turned him mean and hornary ... and he becam Jim Carey again - what aa disappointment.
The thing is, he acts the jerk in real life, as on chat shows (see my reply to John).
