Im sure the insurance will pick up the CT scan. No one orders a scan just for the fun of it.
Ive had problems with my knee and was rushed to the ER twice to get my leg checked out for blood cloths(some venous scan , quite expensive).
Every time this happened , the hospital staff had to call the insurance and seek approval of the procedure, although the doctor ordered the scan. So I was waiting for more than 1 hour in pain for the insurance to decide whether to authorize it or not.
ANd they always asked for ID/insurance card.
Ive been fortunate with my current insurance that I did not pay anything for meniscus and acl reconstruction.
