It's still a beautiful place to live. We went over 50,000 population either just before or just after the millenium (depending on whose numbers you believed) and now have a Barnes and Noble and Home Depot with a second Home Depot going in on the other side of town.

Pluses and minuses. At least I can get some better computer books locally and I didn't have to drive to Phoenix to get stuff when we remodeled. But I miss the smaller town feeling and traffic is getting much more congested than it was when I moved here in '84. Still a long way from the congestion in any major city, though. California produce is more expensive and poorer quality here than it is at my mother's in the Chicago suburbs. (Never could figure that one since a lot of it goes through here on the way there.) Cost of living is high and the wages are low. It helps that I have out-of-town clients.

You really gotta love the area and be really determined to live here. But in that case, it's close to heaven.

>By the way, I've been there in Flagstaff; that is one beautiful area. Is it getting crowded yet? It's been a few years since I visited Flagstaff.
