Hi William, what I'm trying to do is get exclusive access to a SQL table , in Foxpro I used to use Fopen() to try to open a dbf and if it failed I knew someone had the table open, I don't think I can achieve this in SQL server, thanks very much for your efforts and if I find a way I will post back
