Post editing is a simple function. Many forums allow editing even after a response has been made. I've only ever seen one poster claim that editing a post is actually a weapon aimed at him.

Jim Nelson apparently has experience in this area, after you-know-who laid a complaint against him after he edited a post. Apparently UT was able to go back and check the original content and reprimand Mr Nelson. I have never experienced any such reprimand myself, which possibly casts some light on the veracity (and motivation) of the latest claim.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
"
