>>>Hey Gang.
>>>
>>>I was wanting to import some VFP 8.0 sp1 data into MS-SQL Express, but there is no Import/Export Wizard (DTS) in it.
>>>
>>>I looked at the upsizing wizard in VFP 8.0, but it is buggy (doesn't convert over many of the table due to a "The record size exceeded 1962"... what the heck is this???
>>>
>>>So.......... any way to get the VFP data over to SQL Express easily, or am I sunk before I start????

>>Express is Express. No powerful tools for managing, no DTS (SSIS) etc. Why not buy Developer edition? It is about $50 (if I am not wrong).

>Too bad the Express Version doesn't have DTS or Import/Export. It would be a winner in our situation. Kind of hard to believe Microsoft would not provide a way to GET your data into the Database..... or OUT of it, either!!

Even MSDE doesn't have DTS. That is why these versions are FREE. But you could have your own SQL Server version, prepare ALL the data on your computer and then redistribute only DataBase to your clients with SQL Server Express.
