It would be interesting to know what percentage of Refox use is legitimate and how much is illegitimate, i.e. theft. I suspect the latter is the majority.

Looking at it another way, why would I trust a software developer who somehow manages to have an EXE but no source code? If they can't take care of their source code, why would I trust them to take care of my business?

>>>I have proposed that a community controlled central spot could've been a legitimate option. The word 'only' just isn't justified in the aboce sentences. You are too negative about me or my intentions.

>I don't see that as workable at all. Part of the assumption here is that anybody that wants to decompile an app needs to be treated like a crook and watched over by Big Brother.

>>Lucky you and that client that the programmer had not encrypted it with Refox or some other tool.

>Even encrypted apps can be decompiled, so it has limited usefulness, however I don't want to just leave the door unlocked and the window down.

>>Bad luck for your clients if you suddenly die and another developer is asked to decrypt?!

>As I said, only "certain" apps. All my customers own the source code (contrary to the way many other developers work), so I keep them updated with it, plus I have good backups onsite and off. In some cases, the data is encrypted, too.

>I still think you approach this from an "it is only bad" viewpoint, regardless of your posts. I think the great majority of people looking to decompile an app are doing it for legitimate and legal reasons. You seem to assume the opposite.
