Minor correction, pseudoephedrine is NOT a prescription drug, it is non-prescription (over-the-counter). Its use in the manufacturing of Methamphetamine caused the FDA to require it to be behind the prescription counter at pharmacies so that its sale is more controlled (folks cannot easily buy dozens of packages of it).
