Well you must know, as you interpreted C as Celsius.
The freezing point of water is much more sensible and easy to imagine if it's 0, as opp. to 32.
For years we've cheated by using the 2 - C for winter, F for summer. SO 80 F is considered hot. As a diver I'm used to estimating and recording air, surface and sub-surface temps, so I'm used to quoting C temps in summer.
Besides, when you guys say, "It's cold out there - must be 20 degrees" it sounds daft.
