I then renamed the existing (full of data) files, copied the update table to the active directory and performed an append from to get the existing data into the new table format. My startup program looks for a program named Update.fxp in the home diredtory for the system. If Update is ther it runs and erases it. I use the ALTER TABLE comamnd in the update program to make the changes along with the create view and dbsetprop.
