You could say that but there's a big difference. Germany was bladdered by the allies, some cities razed to the ground. The people were starving and scrambling over the ruins. The Germans left the "Surrender Monkeys'" land fairly intact as their own pleasure dome, and launching pad against Britain.
We fairly flattened Iraq too, and their infrastructure.
