Occasionally some of my computer-novice colleagues need to grab some files from me. I have a typical PPP 33Kb modem connection to the net. I would like to be able to occasionally let a person do anonymous FTP access to my PC. Typically, I would log on and use the NetStat utility to see my assigned IP number, call my friend and tell him that number, and then let him log into his ISP and use a browser (
FTP://etc.etc) to do an anonymous login to my PC. I cannot use my ISP as a server for this because I would have to give out my own username and password (I don't control what files go into my ISP's anonymous directory).
Anyway, I've experimented with the FTP server in the QVTNet package. Would not work with Internet Explorer. Logon was accepted but the broswer didn't like something and it immediately logged out.
Any suggestions? Thanks!
