Hi Tore, Today i am upgrading in my projects. I read your reply about indexing

<>Index on alltrim(custname) && Can give different lengths for each cust_name, and is very DANGEROUS
Index on padr(alltrim(cust_name),16) && Safe, will always give keys of length 16

My question is this. If i use your advise in my indexing I get lenght 16 like
with padr or this is only for one line=16 key lenght
