The very obvious difference is that Rudy's father was not a former business partner of Frank Costello and did not send Skinny D'Amato to WVa with a suitcase full of money to buy primary over HH, Rudy's brother didn't have Carlos Marcello snatched off the streets of New Orleans and deported to Guatamala or go after Jimmy Hoffa, and Rudy never shared a mistress with Sam Giancana.
