>My experience of the United States is unlike yours but then I have traveled and lived in a number of places. Have you been to San Francisco, New York or other cities besides Baton Rouge?

cities that I've been traveling.. and, stereotyping on my own perspective:

NY = hard rock hearts (almost robots)
N.Orleans = people full devoted for religion stuffs or full devoted to the crazy wild side.
Miami = the consequence of American movies in other countries (Foreign cultures (of USA) talking, walking and behaving as natural born one)
Atlanta = Wow.. Fast enough life.. I couldn't pursue them..

>When I was in Baton Rouge, a "foriegn culture" was anything outside of the city limits to some folks. Then they divided up the city by race and social status. Everyone knew his/her place. I have not been back since the mid 1960's. Perhaps it has changed.

a little.. on small cities the process of changes are veeeeeeeeeeeery slowly...

sure... sure.. I start to stereotype with Tracy just to confront my own thought about her stereotypes.. My own one conclusion was: "My stereotype is the others prejudice.."
