In addition to the other recommendations, you might also want to take a look at the products from BigSpeed at http://www.bigspeed.net/, specifically BigSpeed Zip DLL or BigSpeed Zip OCX if you prefer an ActiveX control. They have a small footprint and are reasonably priced. I've tested the DLL in a VFP program and found it easy to work with.
