All you are saying is we did better than the other guys. I have personally replaced two VB6 systems with VFP because the other guys did not complete. It does not mean the tech was better because of VFP. Although, I think so. All it says is I was better at getting the job done. It does not say VB6 was bad or cost more.

In some cases the tech is better. But your example does not say anything about the tech. For example you are suggesting that the LAMP guys failed because they were using LAMP. Well google, YouTube, so many others use LAMP it's hard to believe the tech isn't equal or better than M$. In fact about 70% of the web uses apache and some form of LAMP.

The decline of MS - maybe! From what I see it could be happening. Take for example the Office suite. I use Open Office daily. Why should I spend $300 on a office suite when Open Office does everything I need. I tell my clients about Open Office all the time. I no longer use IE. I use firefox.
When I check for jobs on Monster, diggs etc. I see more jobs for java than C#. I use postfix instead of Exchange. Postfix is free. I'm sure you get the picture. Are these thing going to cause the decline of MS. I don't know. But I know they have been getting less money from my clients.
