>Well they did show you several come out whooping but not show their auditions. Maybe they're keeping them for a surprise and just concentrating on the entertaining dross, given enough rope to hang themselves.

>No whackos!? You mean you didn't see the schitzo girl with the cowboy hat (NY)? She couldn't sing to save her life but had a novel idea that she should be the 1st non-singer to be nurtured by the panel and become the first tone-deaf AI, which she explained (all smiles and finger raised in objection) to the panel. When they rejected her she turned into the Medussa!

>Mind you, there were the two babes from Joisey. Both could sing, esp. the taller one!

The young woman with the cowboy hat had some issues, yes. I don't think they should put contestants like that on the air for all to laugh at. How will they feel if she is found hanging from a tree? (Probably nothing more than a pinprick; the ratings were good, weren't they?).

Within about four notes I knew the second of the New Jersey pals was the better singer. She had been talking about how fabulous a singer her friend was, she's had vocal lessons. Maybe that was gamesmanship or maybe she genuinely did feel inferior. She gets my vote. Nice legs, too.

I still haven't seen any contestants who pop off the screen the way Katharine, Taylor, Chris, Mandisa, or Lisa did last season.
