I've met a number of British now living here in Canada who were born after WWII. When a fire alarm or other siren goes off, believe me, they take it far more seriously than we who were born here. No they didn't experience the air raids directly, but if you think that the psychology of it is not passed on through the generations, then you aren't looking at it nearly deeply enough.
