Who knows? He's a politician.

We have a guy like that up here. Stephen Harper wrote a letter back before he was Prime Minister calling global warming bad science and a hoax etc. He was quite scathing in his criticism of the ruling party's decision that it was an important issue.

Now that he is PM and there is the possibility of an election with most of the citizens believing global warming is a hot issue, he has decided that global warming is a critical danger to the earth that must be dealt with in all vigour.
