(For unknown reason the error message is not seen in the subject line here, sorry).

I am getting "data source object is invalid" error while calling Crystal Reports SetDataSource() to set data source to a Classic ADO Recordset.

The message does not appear on "my" development PC, neither in the Debug mode, nor when calling exe directly.

However it appears on another development PC with similar installations, and on the user PC.

According to http://www.businessobjects.com/global/pdf/dev_zone/VS2005_Release_Notes.pdf, this error message "may appear" on Windows 95/98/Ne platforms. But I am working with Windows XP SP2 machines only..

The recordset is generated, checked for records, fields, eof, etc. Nothing special has been found; and as far as I see, there is no difference in the recordset properties on different PC.


I will appreciate your comments, ideas or thoughts on what could be the cause of this error. Thank you in advance.
