>Greg,
>Having lived in both Birmingham, AL and Seattle, let me just say, you are definitely in for a bit of culture shock. More accurately, maybe I should say megabits, perhaps gigabits, of culture shock. You are making a geopolitical move from a locale of bluest blue to one that's very red. If (politically speaking) blue is you, you really do need to prepare yourself for that. Things like the influence of sectarian agendas on school curricula, school boards, local politics, etc. This may actually be what you want. If not, just be aware.

Thank for the warning.

If the difference are on the levels you mention (and others alike), then I maybe able to adjust. My wife and I have no children that live with us. Neither her nor I have any political standing. To be truthful, I have not voted in so many years I forget the last time I did voted. They say that choosing not to decide is a decision itself. But that my problem. I realize the great difference from the North-west from the South-central. But welcome the change. My life has become stagnent and cries out for the change.

I hope I'm right.

>>Hi All,
>>
>>After living here in the Seattle area most off my life, I have accepted a Lead Deveopers (FoxPro) position in Memphis. The area cheaper to live in, and salary is better then I am earning now. Even my wife is excited about moving there (it has to do with Elvis I think.) They flew me out there last Sunday. I spent all day Monday meeting the people of the company and learn about the products and operations. And then flew make here Tuesday morning. Because it was still early enough in the day when I arrived, I came to work (at Adobe) to get a few hours in before heading home. While, I was not at my desk more then 15 minutes when the phone rang and it was the Memphis people. They explained that they had just finished there other interviews, and had decided (unanimously) to offer the position to me at the term I asked for. I am so happy. They are so cool, they are paying for nearly everything involved with moving me and get settled in once we arrive.
