I want to thank everyone for some very valuable information. This is my first LCD (other than a laptop I used to work on), so hopefully it will be a little easier on my eyes. I am of the firm impression that getting old is not good.

>You will find that looking at LCD compared to a CRT will be a LOT eaiser on your eyes. LCD's are quite a bit sharper and you'll find that you can really bump the resolution up pretty high and street your eyes less.
>I run a 17" widescreen LCD laptop at 1440 x 900 - I'd go more if it'd let me.

>As far the refresh reates - I *think* it depends on where you live (USA or overseas) which one you want to use - it has to do with the flicker rate in floresent lighting or something like that (or so I heard) - can't remember which is which though...ha
