>Well, I would think there is a better chance of an Elvis sighting there than anywhere else...:) Lot of people around who not sure he gone... lol.

>My guess is you have never been in Memphis much. It is a very special town, a music town with tremendous heritage (Johnny Cash, Elvis, lots of others). Last time I checked BB King was still around there. Just a great place to visit and live (I know a lot of people who live there).

No I've never been there and have no desire ever to do so. So these big names in music may be there - I'm not into that and, even if I were, I could hear them on CD. They wouldn't necessarily be doing a gig when I was there anyway, nor necessarily could I afford to go, with all the other expenses of the visit. So just being where they have been near does nothing for me.

I must admit to knowing not much else about the city - but the fact that other info hasn't come my way may be indicitive of its lack of draw. Whatever, I know of none.

Although I quite like Elvis's music I'm no great fan, and the idea of going to see his house does nowt for me.

>I am happy for Creg.

I am happy for him if he's happy.

Last August my mum was visiting my cousin in Toronto. It had long been my cousin's ambition to visit Memphis (something to do with the Grand Ole Oprey - just cos there's a theatre called that in Orilia, Ont. if you ask me, cos she's NEVER shown any interest in Country, Johnny Cash, BB King or Elvis).

So my mum and her husband (who has breathing problems, having had lobes of his lungs removed, due to TB, when he was young) went down on this fruitless epic journey with them, by car. Well, they were extrememely uncomfortable the whole time, and he could hardly breathe there.

I seriously questioned my c's motives for going there. Of all the places your wonderful country has to offer: Grand Canyon, "Jellystone" Park :-), New Orleans (I know, not so inviting just now), Boston, NY, Route 66, et al, et al, why Memphis - famous for its music and Elvis. But you can't SEE them.
- Whoever said that women are the weaker sex never tried to wrest the bedclothes off one in the middle of the night
- Worry is the interest you pay, in advance, for a loan that you may never need to take out.
