Well, it's not our language, and it's customary to be more careful with borrowed things than with your own :).
Only one of my daughters once got less than an A on composition - and that was the oldest, at a community college, simply on a suspicion that she stole pieces of it from unknown sources. The professor had this firm assumption that there's no way anyone at age of 21 can freely use words like romanticism, positivism etc and actually know what they mean, it must be a cheat, grade down.
