Take a look at http://icsharpcode.net/OpenSource/SharpZipLib/ it allows to create zip, bzip2, gzip.

You can use it in VFP through .NET Extender for VFP (http://www.etecnologia.net/products/CLRExtender/CLRExtender-index.htm). A sample included in .NET Extender even shows you how to zip and unzip directories from VFP.
