I kind of agree with that sentiment since we knew it was coming and realistically nothing's really changed but the default permissions being more strict out of the box.
But this does leave open a big issue:
Where do you put shared data? <s>
There's no place on the entire machine that's sharable by all users unless you change permissions. IOW, shareable applications are going to be tough to install without manual user intervention. Same for networked applications that may need to (
) share files across the network.

Its like when MS told us back in the DOS 6 and Win 3.0 days (or earlier, I didn't do Windows until then) to quit accessing hardware directly at the application level.
