My dad used to have some beef cows, and he was building some new stable-like booths in the barn. I was about 4 years old, but he decided I was old enough to block the open door so the calves couldn't get out. Well, one walked up to me, put it's head between my legs, and lifted me up on its back. I stayed on for a few seconds... probably because the cow was paralyzed by my screaming, yelling, and crying all at the same time.

I remember that... and every time I get within a few feet of a cow where there isn't a fence between us, I get nervous.
