Thought I would relay the "bottom-line" reason that was causing my problems. The virtual website on the server was transformed into an asp2.0 from 1.x. I had other sites in the virtual directory that were both 2.0 and 1.x. Ultimately, that was causing the problems with modifications too numerous to mention especially with the .dll's
