I do that all the time - in a builder. Instead of "this", the code uses the reference to the grid obtained from aSelObj(). Frankly, I design most of my grids from command window. PEM window is too slow, Intellisense is so much faster. And, um, mouse is handy to define the width of columns... not much more.
