>>Well, it seems that the republicans spent the eight years that Clinton was president trying to find him guilty of a multitude of things. For all practical purposes the republicans shut down the nation in their quest. Most commendable of them.

>I was very disappointed in the way the Republicans went about all that. I thought they should have impeached the miserable wretch. You are looking at things from the wrong perspective. I think we need MORE gridlock. It's not as though we don't have enough laws to deal with everything already!
Personally, I would like to see the persons we have elected to office represent us and not themselves, their political party or the President! These fine persons are self-serving and only have themselves in mind. What is good for the nation? Who cares?
Todays reality about political office is about power and gaining financial wealth for yourself, pet projects and should be about representing those who voted you into office.
The gridlock you speak of can put us in a position much like that before World War II. Keep your head in the sand (by doing nothing or not addressing reality) and just let things happen.
