>Well, you never know. I feel obliged to tell you one story, actually it's a cartoon that somehow was printed in one Soviet magazine many years ago. The picture is following: rural club with big slogan on the wall "Today's Lecture: God doesn't exist". The speaker stands on the scene, and ... in the first row sits a man with all known attributes: nimb, beard, clothes etc. The lecturer anxiously talks to himself: 'Damned. Why did he come to my lecture?'

Good cartoon. I can see it in my mind. If you like some comedy in the whole concept, there is a book by Tom Holt called "Only Human". The idea is that God and his son 'Jay' decide to take a fishing holiday since they haven't taken a day off in many millenia. They leave God's other son 'Kevin Christ' in charge while they're gone, but Kevin is not entirely competent to handle it.

For the record, everything Tom Holt writes is hilarious.

>>This is why I have so much trouble with it all - well, one of the main reasons at least. There was a time when people believed in many gods. Mythology is mythology, and until somebody can give me a good explanation of why one 'Jack of all trades' god is better than a lot of specialized gods, and that there is some reason why this one shouldn't be viewed as just another mythology, I suppose I'll just keep seeing it that way.

>>I can't help thinking that 2000 years from now, assuming there are still people around, we'll be looked back on as foolish believers in some silly mythology in the same way we see similar beliefs of various ancient peoples.
