>Have to call you on this one. All but one of my bills is paid electronically from an account where my paycheck is automatically deposited. Our company receives electronic payments from almost three quarters of its customers, and pays most of it's bills that way.
Wachovia had a glitch on my electronic payment, so I was supposedly late with my water bill. My e-statement showed that I paid four days in advance, yet the next bill showed I was two days late. I dragged the issue across the rental office, the water billing company, and eventually it came to the bank. They said that there probably was "a delay in the process of printing and distributing the checks", or something to that effect.
Actual B2B transactions are gaining traction, but it's no system worth mentioning, it's more of a P2P network. At my last job I was having my salary deposited directly (if you call involving paychex.com company "direct"), but it took first couple of checks for the channel to be established, and only then it took off.
