Well, obviously everything could not be covered, there is not enough time or space. So in a sense, because someone is choosing what will be broadcast or printed, that is in effect, sensoring.

All the elections and background info on that. But things like the runaway bride don't make it to our news broadcasts: it is too sensational and of little news importance.

No, I do not read or speak Dutch. While I was there I did have a native speaker translating the news and papers for me though and I did focus on anything having to do with the U.S. (out of curiosity). Everything was not covered. It appeared to me to only be those items that were considered the most 'interesting' to the Dutch people. So not really any more information than we get here on other countries.

The best papers only state the facts and seldomly draw any conclusion, besides making qoutes of people involved in the issues. drawing up conclusions is up to the reader. If you're too biased you'll be burned to the ground as you do not conform the unwritten code of the independed press. IOW, that won't be good for your carrier.
