John,

>OK, I've had enough of this.

>The references to paychecks and "check is in the mail" are for the most part just language vestiges. Just like I use the word "record" sometimes when referring to CDs.

Nobody up here is working with paychecks for steady jobs (non seasonal), for as long as I can remember. I was stunned that it still was very common in the US. I don't ever remember my father ever got a paycheck, and then I talk about some 30 odd years. I personally never received one either. I must go at least 10 years back for the last traveler check I've used, and at least a 20 years for the last general cash checks.

>Reminder, you yahoos - we invented the internet. We invented the ATM. I'm not sure but we probably invented online banking.

Yeah, and we invented the audio compact cassette, the video tape and the CD and CD-rom, DVD+R, the microscope, the roadrule enforment camera, the submarine, artificial kidney, so what ??

I was not able to check who did invent online backing (or telebanking via dial-up), but I've been doing it for many, many years now. If it was invented in the US, now tell me why it is not that common up there? It is not about who invented it, but who uses it, which has been my claim in the first place.
