yeah.. see.. we are different on every new experience.. so, comparing or using old references will not help.. only to confuse..

the teaching on this it isn't only on christianity: "..we need to learn every life's moment as a brand new one!"

Exactly as the children does.. On many moments of our life be a "experient" guy doesn't help us..
