Facilitated terrorism? What does that mean? We, along with the UN, spent months looking for WMD in Iraq and Iraqi links to Al Qaeda and didn't find as much as a firecracker. In 1941 the provocation was as plain as day: the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor.

The appropriate WWII analogy, and I don't remember who said this, was that invading Iraq after 9/11 was as if we had invaded Spain after Pearl Harbor.

>Iraq facilitated terrorism. Iraw was to terrorism what Italy was to WW2.

>>But Iraq didn't have anything to do with 9/11.

>>>Sure.
>>>
>>>Our involvement in WW2 and the GWOT were both precipitated by sneak attacks and the GWOT is ongoing. There's the comparison.
>>>
>>>
>>>>>>1) Your point is irreevant because what another war, fought at another time, for other reasons may or may not have cost does not detract from what the author is claiming one could have better spent 1 trillion dollars (conservatively) on instead.
>>>>>
>>>>>It would not have been otherwise spent. There would be a reduced deficit, that's all.
>>>>>
>>>>>>2) Are you actually suggesting that Iraq is comparable to WWII in any way whatsoever?
>>>>>
>>>>>Yes.

>>>>
>>>>Wow. Can you elaborate on that?
