What do you mean how it goes for me? You can't seriously expect any comparison, because you don't have two persons who are otherwise identical, just one is religious and one is not. Or if one person starts or stops believing - in a way, it's the same person, however this person has taken an important step which will surely influence their behavior, or is a result of such a change. So the person before is not quite the same person as after.
Which is why I said "who can say?". Nobody can.
It's quite interesting that some religions collect stories about people who stopped this or that (you have such a story as well) after joining them - and I can't recall the opposite stories. Unbelievers are not organized, that must be it.
