>>There even is a monument not far from where I live, because they gave a concert up there some 40 odd years ago. Remember this monument was placed only a few years ago. I won't see that happen for any other group (no the rolling stones have visited holland too many times).

>It's amazing that after 40+ years it's still Beatles vs Stones :). Even though the Stones have 35+ years more under their belt.

But even the stones do recognise the geniality of the beatles (I've seen an interview where jagger said this. He even appear in one of their clips). I'm not so much a beatles, but more of a stone fan. I'm to young to too have first hand experience of how revolutionary their music was, and as for the geniality, though widely recognised, I guess I simply do not hear it (I'm not a musician, just a listener). I really love songs like angie, sympathy for the devil, paint it black, but I've got about nothing with song like Yesterday, strawberry fields or let it be.

Would anyone have guessed back then that in 2007 all stones are still alive and that half of the beatles have gone ?? Would anyone have guessed (including the stones themselves) they'd still be playing the same songs in 2007 ?
