We have a saying, "ispod Mire sto đavola vire". Mira is a feminine name, probably derived from Myriam, but accidentally "mir" means "peace", and "tranquility" (not so in Russian, where it means "world"). So, "under Mira hundred devils peek out" applies to little surprises of this kind.
