>Well, it's not up to me to watch it, it's up to you. Because that statement could be taken as "people that don't agree with me are close minded."
People are often overly fond of sticking to their accepted ideas despite evidence. It's an old saying that bad ideas get accepted immediately but good ideas have to be pushed. It's got nothing to do with me. I didn't make up that saying. Interpreting what I said the way you did damages the exchange of information. I never said what you said, nor do I think what you said.
>State your opinions calmly and logically and back them up with evidence and you will convince your share of people.
Difficult to do when others stick up for their "comfort zone" approaches. Making a case for something and leaving it to be torn down by such people seems wrong to me. Supporting that case makes seems argumentative. It shouldn't require so much effort to put forward a good idea. It's obviously up to me to watch how I put things. Unfortunately. It should be up to all of us to be accepting of how people express themselves.
Also, those who agree seldom jump in and support the new idea. Until that happens progress will be slow.
> Some you will never convince and some will determine - rightly so - that your solutions don't fit their situation.
"rightly" is debateable, especially in view of the propensity to stick with the comfortable.

>>How did Bugs Bunny put it? "He don't know me too well, do he?" There's a ton of stuff I'd like to say but people don't keep open enough minds. Just watch how that statement will be taken.
